Williamson, Edward Van Velsor, MD

Edward Williamson, MD, says the joy of practicing medicine is that it's a field that allows you to apply scientific principles in a compassionate way to improve the lives of people in the community. Dr. Williamson is grateful for the opportunity to serve his family medicine patients and to help them along the path toward better health. Key to that process is a focus on prevention, he says. Dr. Williamson has earned honors that include being named outstanding resident by the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians, chief resident at Cone Health Family Medicine, honor council member at Wake Forest School of Medicine and Eagle Scout. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports and going to the beach.
